In about 2 minutes without any rinses, stains or discomfort the VELscope® system can safely visualize abnormalities in the mucosal tissues of your lips, mouth and upper throat to detect oral pre-cancer and cancer.
The fluorescence lights up the mouth’s tissues differently than ordinary lighting, making it easier to see abnormal cells or tissue that might not otherwise show up. With better visualization, areas of concern can be spotted more quickly so patients can get testing they need to determine the presence of cancer or pre-cancer in the mouth before it spreads.
